Our District Support Pharmacists (DSPs) play a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence within each pharmacy worked by acting as a role model for all, demonstrating genuine care, and setting the bar for the pharmacy team. Responsibilities Live our purpose by managing and improving patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices. Travel the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator, overseeing the pharmacy and serving as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts. Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures and directing the pharmacy team to do the same, using safety guardrails at every workstation. Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist on duty. Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, coaching the pharmacy team, collaborating with the patient’s healthcare team, and proactively resolving insurance or medication issues. Offer and deliver immunizations to keep patients healthy; engage and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize. Manage pharmacy inventory effectively, following best practices and protecting cold chain products. Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs while maintaining a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic. Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills and actively seek opportunities to expand knowledge. Assist with pharmacist‑delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services (e.g., COVID/Flu, Hormonal Contraception) where permissible, supporting holistic care at every step. Understand and comply with all applicable federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles, and conform to CVS Health policies, controlled substance dispensing, recordkeeping, patient privacy and security, and workplace safety. Ability to travel within a reasonable radius to support market staffing as business needs require. Maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Complete required training within the designated timeframe. Attention and Focus: Concentrate on tasks, pivot quickly to meet patient and business needs, and confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety. Customer Service and Team Orientation: Actively help people in a friendly manner, notice and understand patients’ reactions, and respond appropriately. Communication Skills: Use verbal and written communication effectively, practice active listening, and ask questions as appropriate. Mathematical Reasoning: Use math to solve problems such as determining the total number of tablets, day’s supply, and additional bottles needed for prescriptions. Problem Resolution: Identify challenging patient or colleague interactions and choose the best course of action when faced with multiple options. Physical Demands: Be mobile, remain upright for extended periods, lift, scan, and bag items, reach overhead and out, use hands and fingers repetitively, and lift up to 20 lbs occasionally or 10 lbs frequently, with finely parsed tasks such as transcribing and visual inspection. Any additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager. Required Qualifications Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list. Preferred Qualifications 1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting. Anticipated Weekly Hours 20 Time Type Part time Pay Range The Typical Pay Range For This Role Is $65.00 - $81.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
