Medical Lab Technician Floater

IMC is currently hiringa Medical Lab Technician Floater - (North & Main Campus) who is responsible for m aintaining skills in manual and automated testing of moderate and high complexity in all sections of the laboratory which include chemistry hematology and coag urinalysis microbiology blood bank and immunology; following QC and QA protocols; becoming proficient in using the Laboratory Information System; abiding by all regulatory requirements including CAP TJC CMS and OIG legal lab compliance; and participating in proficiency testing.

Education Skills and Experience:

Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technology is required a Bachelors degree is preferred;

Certification as Medical Laboratory Technician by ASCP or AMT;

Current license as a Clinical Laboratory Technician with the LSBME;

6 months Clinical training through an approved MLT training hospital or previous MLT experience;

Working knowledge of testing of waived moderate and high complexity in the following disciplines: General Chemistry Special Chemistry Therapeutic Drugs Toxicology Hematology Coagulation Urinalysis Blood Bank Parasitology Serology and Microbiology; and

Analytical computer skills and knowledge of laboratory workflow.
