About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP, Clinical Development to take on the role of medical lead for base editing gene therapies in the metabolic franchise. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing the strategic vision for the company's metabolic clinical efforts, providing medical counsel and scientific guidance, and leading the design of clinical development plans and protocols. This role requires a deep understanding of clinical and pre-clinical pharmaceutical development, a proven track record in clinical development, and the ability to lead and influence experienced professionals. The VP will also be involved in supporting cross-functional teams, ensuring high-quality clinical development standards, and managing and mentoring a team of physicians and clinical scientists. Applicants must have an MD, DO, or equivalent ex-US medical degree with at least 15 years of experience, including a minimum of 10 years in clinical development within the industry. Experience in metabolic or rare diseases, as well as a background in patient care, is highly desirable. The role demands a strategic thinker with strong execution skills, the ability to work in a fast-changing environment, and a broad knowledge of R&D functions. The VP will be expected to have a proven track record of successful interactions with regulatory authorities and experience in commercial strategies. The position is pivotal in representing the company both internally and externally, and the candidate should be an effective communicator, capable of conveying the company's vision and values in the field of metabolic diseases.
