Our Physician Practices team is committed to providing an efficient and welcoming experience for patients throughout their care journey. As a Medical Office Assistant you will provide essential front-office and administrative support to patients providers and other members of the healthcare team. This role assists with scheduling patient registration referrals pre-certifications payment collection and maintaining accurate patient information to help ensure the smooth operation of the practice.

How youll contribute

A Medical Office Assistant who excels in this role:

• Schedules and registers patients and maintains accurate patient information within the computer system.
• Obtains referrals and pre-certifications as required.
• Schedules referral appointments as necessary or as instructed by the provider.
• Performs administrative and clerical duties including reception filing scheduling data entry and patient registration.
• Reviews provider orders prior to the patient leaving the clinic.
• Obtains informed consent for invasive procedures.
• Posts charges completes required paperwork and collects co-pays deductibles and outstanding account balances.
• Assists with end-of-day balancing and closing procedures including preparing deposits for courier pickup.
• Maintains examination areas equipment and medical supplies including stocking cleaning reordering and basic troubleshooting.
• Assists with maintaining office supply inventory and appropriate stock levels to support efficient workflow.
• Demonstrates a working knowledge of applicable infection control policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
