Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) - Nights (MS/Onc Unit)

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Night shift: 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15). Every other weekend required.

Job Description: The Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing care primarily to medical-surgical patients with an oncology history. This role requires skills in administering medications, managing various medical devices, and ensuring patient safety during treatment.

Responsibilities:

• Caring for patients with general medical-surgical diagnoses and oncology-related conditions.
• Administering chemotherapy/biotherapy as required, following safety protocols.
• Monitoring patient vitals, administering medications, and managing various medical devices, including central lines and PICC lines.
• Maintaining patient records and documenting care in the electronic health record (Epic).
• Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate patient care.
• Floating to similar units and alternate care locations as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required; traveler experience accepted for first-time travelers.
• Inpatient setting experience is mandatory.
• Certifications: Current RN license, BLS, and ONS/ONCC chemotherapy administration certification preferred.
• Oncology certification (OCN) is a plus.
