Senior Manager, Software Engineering - Trade Execution

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, with at least 5 years of applied experience
• Proven experience leading software engineering teams to deliver technology solutions
• Practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced proficiency in Java or Python
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS
• Experience designing, developing, and deploying scalable applications in cloud environments
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and RESTful API development
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as DataDog, Dynatrace, or Splunk
• Experience leading multiple teams in adopting enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and delivery tools, including establishing governance, human review and quality controls, measuring outcomes, and protecting sensitive information
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering, including data sensitivity, security, resilience, and controls, with the ability to coach teams and influence leaders on safe adoption
• Preferred: Experience supporting trade execution platforms and familiarity with investment banking products, including fixed income and derivatives

• Guide software engineers in their daily work, including designing and developing solutions and troubleshooting technical issues
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and establish expectations for team output, engineering practices, and collaboration
• Identify opportunities to prevent or automate remediation of recurring issues and improve application and system stability
• Anticipate cross-team dependencies and lead evaluations with internal teams and external vendors to shape practical designs that fit existing systems and information architecture
• Manage stakeholder relationships and team delivery in line with compliance standards, service-level agreements, and business needs
• Foster a team culture grounded in diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
• Establish and scale operating practices for enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering and SDLC/TLM automation across teams, setting measurable goals and ensuring validation, security, resilience, and reuse of proven approaches
• Use software development lifecycle tools, including authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve efficiency and support capacity initiatives, prioritizing existing firm technology assets
• Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentorship while advancing technology initiatives for the Treasury & Chief Investment Office Trade Execution team
