Physician- Trauma Surgeon

The University of Kansas Health System, Department of Surgery, is seeking a Trauma Surgeon with training and interest in General and Acute Care Surgery. Qualified candidates must possess an interest in providing elective surgical care to complex patients in support of the group's rapidly growing elective surgical practice. Current call rotation is 1:8 with an annual volume of approximately 2800 trauma admissions, and nearly 2600 emergency general surgery patient contacts this year. Candidates should possess excellent clinical skills and a strong interest in supporting the academic missions of the Department through education, research, and/or outreach.

The ideal candidate will enjoy being a part of a fast-paced, busy, high volume and high producing group. The Acute Care Surgery service includes weekly rotations through complex elective general surgery clinic, emergency general surgery, surgical critical care and manages a high volume of severely injured patients at a high performing Level 1 Trauma Center. We see a broad spectrum of blunt and penetrating trauma. Strong APP support. Collaborative culture with mentorship. Equitable, positive work environment with time for family and personal interests.

Required Qualifications:

• MD, DO or equivalent
• Completion of Surgical Critical Care or Acute Care Surgery
• Board certified/eligible in Trauma Surgery
• Eligible for licensure in Kansas and Missouri
