Summary This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration, headquartered in Rockville, Maryland. Responsibilities As a Health Scientist you will: Provide clinical and/or healthcare quality assurance/quality improvement performance technical assistance. Provide expertise in developing, monitoring, implementing, and evaluating current or projected complex, interrelated public health programs. Perform analyses and prepare written and analytical reports. Advise the Director and other staff on the design, analysis, and dissemination of Health Center Program data. Design, develop, and maintain service-related aggregate level data collection systems that facilitate program monitoring. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Basic Qualifications: Have a bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree: major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (external link) at the time the degree was obtained. Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following: Developing and implementing healthcare quality improvement strategies to support public health funding activities. Analyzing health data and preparing technical reports, reviews, and presentations to support program operations and decision-making. Providing scientific guidance and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders on public health issues. Advising on the design and use of health data systems, tools, and datasets to support organizational needs. Documenting experience: IN DESCRIBING YOUR EXPERIENCE, PLEASE BE CLEAR AND SPECIFIC.
