The Machinist is responsible for preparing, setting up, and operating computer-operated cutting and machining equipment. This includes downloading programs, positioning metals and tooling, conducting test runs, and ensuring precision machining operations meet production specifications. The role requires strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and adherence to strict safety procedures. Essential Job Functions: • Prepare and operate CNC or computer-controlled cutting equipment, including downloading programs and loading required materials and tools. • Perform test runs to identify potential issues prior to full production and make necessary adjustments. • Set up, adjust, and operate basic and specialized machine tools to complete precision machining operations. • Identify and correct problems before producing complete workpiece quantities. • Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). • Communicate immediately with the Production Manager regarding injuries, unsafe conditions, equipment failures, or quality concerns. • Maintain accurate records of work performed, test run findings, material usage, and production results. • Keep work areas organized, clean, and safe; return tools and materials to proper storage. • Properly dispose of waste materials after completing assignments. • Assist with general shop housekeeping and material handling. • Support other production areas as needed. • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support manufacturing operations. Schedule: The standard schedule for this position is: • Day Shift: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM • Night Shift: Monday-Wednesday, 4:30 PM to 5:00 AM, and Thursday, 4:30 PM to 10:00 PM Flexibility may be required to work additional hours, evenings, or weekends based on production needs. Required Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED preferred. • Prior experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred. • Ability to read and interpret basic work instructions and safety procedures. • Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and a commitment to quality. • Must be safety-focused and able to work effectively as part of a team. • Must be a U.S citizen .
