Memory Care Associate

Job Description The Memory Care Care Associate provides compassionate, person-centered care and support to residents living with dementia and other cognitive impairments. The Care Associate is responsible for assisting residents with activities of daily living while promoting dignity, independence, safety, and quality of life. The ideal candidate demonstrates patience, empathy, professionalism, and a genuine desire to build meaningful relationships with residents and their families. The Care Associate works as part of the Memory Care team to create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment tailored to each resident's individual needs. Essential Responsibilities Provide appropriate support to residents experiencing memory loss, confusion, anxiety, or behavioral changes. Use effective dementia-care approaches, including redirection, reassurance, validation, and positive engagement. Maintain a calm and supportive approach when residents become confused, upset, or resistant to care. Observe residents for changes in behavior, mood, appetite, mobility, skin condition, or overall well-being and promptly report concerns. Support residents in maintaining familiar routines and meaningful daily activities. Safety & Environment Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and comfortable resident environment. Follow all community safety procedures, emergency procedures, infection-control practices, and fall-prevention protocols. Monitor residents and report safety concerns, accidents, incidents, or unusual behaviors immediately. Follow appropriate procedures regarding wandering, elopement risk, and other safety concerns. Maintain confidentiality of resident and employee information.
