Human Resources Generalist

We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support day-to-day HR operations and help foster an exceptional employee experience. This role serves as a key partner across the employee lifecycle, ensuring efficient execution of HR processes, compliance initiatives, recruiting support, onboarding, benefits administration, and payroll coordination. Based in Reno, NV, the HR Generalist will work closely with the Director of Human Resources and collaborate across departments to support organizational growth, employee engagement, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Human Resources Operations Support benefits administration, including open enrollment and employee benefit inquiries. Assist with employee relations and respond to HR-related questions from employees, candidates, and supervisors. Escalate complex or sensitive matters to appropriate HR leadership. Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition Support recruiting efforts by screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and managing candidate communications. Assist hiring managers throughout the recruitment process to ensure a positive candidate experience. Onboarding & Offboarding Lead and coordinate new hire onboarding activities, including paperwork, system access, and orientation. Manage administrative offboarding processes for departing employees. Compliance & Training Track and document completion of required training programs, including: Safety training Anti-harassment training Workplace violence prevention training Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Review HR policies and practices to maintain compliance and operational effectiveness. Payroll Support & Reporting Partner with the payroll team to ensure timely timesheet submissions and time-off approvals. Assist with payroll-related projects and workforce reporting. Leverage AI tools and technology to improve HR efficiencies and generate reporting metrics. Stay current with HR trends, best practices, employment law updates, and emerging HR technologies. Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education Required Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Preferred HR certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR. Experience Required 1-3 years of experience in an HR Coordinator, HR Assistant, HR Support, or Human Resources Generalist role. Preferred Experience supporting a remote or distributed workforce. Required Skills Proficiency with Google Workspace (Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.). Strong verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional organization and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality. Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices. Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines. Hybrid work environment with a minimum of two days per week in the Reno office. Supports a workforce that is primarily remote.
