Project Manager - Programs

Job Overview Project Manager – Wendell, NC – Hybrid. This role is located in the Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit and may involve 2-3 days per week in the office. Responsibilities include leading projects from initiation through closeout in a matrix organization, coordinating cross‑functional teams, managing schedule, cost, quality, and risk, and communicating with stakeholders. Responsibilities Direct all phases of projects from inception through completion. Manage the cost, schedule, quality, and technical performance of the assigned projects. Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules. Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders. Lead and drive multi-disciplinary and cross‑functional teams, including engineering, operations, vendor management, logistics, and services. Provide regular updates to team, management, and PMO on work performed, plans, budget, and overall status. Identify project problems and obtain solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Proactive risk identification and mitigation. Manage customer expectations across the project cycle and lead single and multi‑product medium‑voltage solutions projects. Direct diagnostics with the ability to determine root cause and corrective actions. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college. 3+ years of experience in the power distribution industry managing medium‑voltage portfolios. 3+ years of experience utilizing Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Project. 1+ year of working with multi‑disciplinary teams, including program management, services, engineering, operations, and logistics. Valid U.S. Driver’s License. Ability to travel up to 20% (domestic and international). Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering. Project management or engineering internship or related work experience in the power distribution industry. Basic knowledge of power distribution, including reading electrical drawings and customer specifications. Experience identifying and implementing cost savings measures within projects. Commitment to develop, drive, and manage projects in a highly competitive market. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, to present complex issues to multi‑level audiences and effectively communicate progress, status, and issues to internal and external customers. Ability to interpret and report results to senior management and customers. Demonstrated ability in contract and change management. PMP certification (required within 1 year of employment).
