Senior Mechanical EngineerIMEG is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Pensacola, FL, to lead large and highly complex mechanical engineering projects as a lead engineer or project manager. In this role, you will provide project direction, engineering solutions, and client guidance while overseeing the analysis, design, and implementation of mechanical systems for the vertical building industry, with a focus on government and Department of Defense projects. You'll also work within project budgets, mentor team members, and collaborate across disciplines to help achieve project goals and client expectations.Principal ResponsibilitiesLead design efforts for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systemsDevelop detailed designs, specifications, and calculations in accordance with code requirements and IMEG standardsPerform site assessments and generate technical analyses and reportsPartner with clients to understand project needs, communicate technical information, and maintain strong working relationshipsConduct in-process design reviews and implement IMEG quality control processes to support quality, accuracy, and complianceProvide technical training, mentoring, and field issue support with minimal senior staff involvementStay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices while supporting research and innovation effortsIdentify and mitigate safety risks associated with mechanical systemsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated project solutionsLead project interviews and presentationsRequired Qualifications and SkillsBachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, requiredProfessional Engineer (PE) License required14 years of experience minimum required, 16 preferred, in the building design consulting industryMastery of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specificationsMastery of technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles in thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics relating to mechanical design in HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systemsStrong training, mentoring and leadership skillsAbility to perform final quality control check in their area of expertiseAbility to sell work and develop client relationshipsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groupsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentAttention to detail and problem-solving skillsEagerness to adapt to new challengesProficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and OutlookAbility to travel up to 25% with occasional overnight staysThis position is not eligible for sponsorship.Why Join UsIMEG puts people first—with a strong focus on career growth, work-life balance, and meaningful impact.
