Clinic Nurse

Salary: $55,036-$89,433 Annually (Starting Salary expected to be $75-$80k) Level: H5 Opens: August 18, 2026 Closes: September 01, 2026 SUMMARY: In the LTBB Clinic, the Clinic Nurse position will provide support to the Psychiatric provider for part of the week and assist with other outpatient duties for the remainder of the week. Provide direct, professional nursing care to specified population of patients in an outpatient setting maximizing resources and maintaining optimal flow.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides excellent service to clients, vendors and fellow employees. Represents the LTBB Health Department in a professional and positive manner. Responsible for ensuring that patients receive exemplary service and are treated with respect and in a timely manner. Provide direct support to the clinic part-time psychiatric tele-health provider, including direct patient care, scheduling of tests, medication renewals, prior authorizations, and documentation in the electronic health record. Provide patient education about their conditions, treatment plans, and preventative care measures. Work closely with front desk staff to assist in the management of Psychiatric provider’s schedule. Provide support to other primary care providers in managing controlled substance prescriptions and refills. Serve as back up supervisor for LTBB Clinic when Clinic Nurse Manager is out or unavailable. Provide clear direction and guidance to staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Adjust staffing as needed based on patient volumes and ensure a staff workload is balanced and manageable in the absence of manager. Assists with the development of policies and procedures and ensures that clinic staff adhere to all relevant policies and procedures. Review patient charts and ensure documentation meets regulatory standards as requested. Serve as a resource to answer staff questions on procedures, medications and other clinical matters. Contact tracing for any public health event as requested. Assist with continued development of our electronic health record. Maintain confidentiality of patient records and follow HIPAA. Ensure patient safety and satisfaction by monitoring quality of care metrics and implementing improvement initiatives. Administer prescribed medications and tests, apply sterile dressings, perform phlebotomy and monitor vital signs. Perform bench labs and electrocardiograms. Notify patients of lab results and discuss as directed. Assist Clinic Nurse Manager with patient triage over the phone and in person. Must be able to appropriately triage patients for emergency room evaluation, same day appointments or routine care. Must be confident with BLS skills. Other duties as assigned within scope of the position. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor of Science in Nursing and registered nurse license in Michigan with at least three years of nursing experience required. Primary Care work experience preferred. Experience working with Native American population is preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Ability to implement and evaluate clinical services. Ability to work in stressful situations and conduct oneself in professional and empathetic manner at all times. Ability to communicate and work well with others. Knowledge of clinical operations procedures and standards of care. Ability to draw intravenous and peripheral blood. Skill in preparing and maintaining patient records utilizing the electronic health record. Dependable and independent self-starter. Ability to plan for and assist during emergency situations. Behave in a way that supports a positive team environment. Have proven record of reliability with positive work history with previous employers, including LTBB. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must have and maintainregistered nurse license in the State of Michigan. COMMENTS: Indian preference will apply (Preference will be given to qualified Native American applicants in accordance with the LTBB Indian Preference Statute). Individuals must pass a thorough background investigation. Individual must take TB test and get influenza vaccination annually due to working in a health setting.
