Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with critical care experience for a night shift position at a Level 3 Trauma hospital in Middletown, Ohio.

Details

• Respiratory Care Services department at a Level 3 Trauma hospital
• Adult care areas with interdisciplinary collaboration alongside medical staff, nursing, and other allied health practitioners
• 13-week contract
• Night shift: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM (3x12-hour shifts)
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
• 24/7 department with responsibilities throughout the hospital

Requirements

• Associate degree in Applied Science or equivalent with a major in Respiratory Care or NBRC-approved registry requirements
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Critical care experience required
• Valid Ohio Respiratory Care License required if applicable
• Valid RRT credential through NBRC required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through AHA required
• Proficiency in initiating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and weaning patients from mechanical ventilation, BiPAP, and medical gas therapy
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Assess, recommend, implement, and modify respiratory care procedures by protocol or physician order
• Analyze, prioritize, and evaluate patient needs in an efficient and effective manner
• Educate staff, physicians, and patients on disease processes, treatments, and medications
• Complete all required clinical and didactic yearly competencies for assigned clinical areas
• Hunter green scrubs required
