Project Air Quality Engineer

Project Air Quality Engineer

As a Project Air Quality Engineer, you will support Gulf Coast air quality projects from permitting to compliance. You join the Integrated Sustainability and Compliance team to deliver regulatory-ready solutions for industrial clients. You will work with air quality leaders to develop strategies, model emissions, and prepare permit applications. This is a hybrid role offering collaboration across cross-functional teams and opportunities to mentor peers while expanding Arcadis' air quality practice.

Responsibilities

Perform air quality services for clients across industries (manufacturing, automotive, chemical, transportation, oil and gas)
Support air permitting and compliance projects under Federal and Texas/state regulations
Prepare air permit applications (Permits-by-Rule, minor NSR, FESOP, Title V, PSD, NNSR avoidance)
Conduct emissions calculations for regulated pollutants and greenhouse gases for inventories and reporting
Collaborate with air team leaders to ensure regulatory knowledge is applied and projects are delivered
Assist with client and proposal development activities
Travel up to 10-20% for project/client needs (possible overnight trips)
Provide mentorship to staff to grow air quality services with key clients
Participate in broader environmental compliance projects (waste, stormwater, SPCC)

Key requirements

Minimum 7 years of Air Quality experience with strong oil and gas emission calculations and permitting background
Bachelor in Chemical Engineering
PE or EIT registration in Texas and/or Louisiana (preferred)
Experience with emissions tracking, deviations, MACT, and regulatory reporting
Ability to work in a hybrid office/remote setting and travel as needed
