Division 26 Electrical Project Manager - Conveyance Systems

Lead complex Division 26 electrical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, with particular ownership of the electrical infrastructure, interfaces, and turnover requirements that enable conveyance and material-handling systems. This role combines project leadership, client partnership, field coordination, and full financial accountability across fast-paced commercial, industrial, mission-critical, and infrastructure work.

The best fit is an electrical construction project leader who has managed large, concurrent projects and can speak fluently about conveyance-system power and controls interfaces, grounding and bonding, installation sequencing, subcontractor performance, labor productivity, change management, and commissioning readiness.

Compensation

$120,000-$200,000 base salary (could potentially be more or less depending on candidate background); final offer depends on project scope, experience level, and candidate requirements

Responsibilities

Lead multiple concurrent Division 26 electrical construction projects from kickoff through closeout, protecting safety, schedule, budget, quality, and client commitments.

Own the project plan for conveyance-system electrical scope, including enabling infrastructure, equipment power, feeder and distribution needs, raceway and cabling pathways, motor and drive interfaces, grounding and bonding, controls handoffs, and installation prerequisites.

Coordinate conveyance-system dependencies with field leadership, equipment vendors, controls teams, commissioning teams, general contractors, and Division 27/28 partners so work is released, installed, tested, and turned over through defined readiness gates.

Oversee scheduling, procurement, long-lead equipment tracking, manpower planning, subcontractor performance, change management, project documentation, punch completion, and closeout.

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, owners, general contractors, engineering firms, conveyance-system stakeholders, and trade partners; communicate milestones, risks, decisions, and recovery plans proactively.

Review construction drawings, Division 26 specifications, conveyance equipment requirements, RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, one-lines, coordination drawings, and installation packages for constructability and scope alignment.

Partner with field leadership to maintain installation quality and compliance with NEC, NFPA, OSHA, project requirements, and local authority having jurisdiction standards.

Own budgets, cost forecasts, labor productivity, procurement commitments, subcontractor exposure, billing, cash flow, profitability, and change-order development throughout the project lifecycle.

Lead project kickoff meetings, progress reviews, client meetings, risk reviews, commissioning-readiness discussions, and closeout activities with Estimating, Engineering, Procurement, Operations, Safety, and QA/QC.

Coach project engineers, project coordinators, assistant project managers, and field leaders while building a culture of accountability, early issue escalation, disciplined execution, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

7-10+ years of progressive experience managing large-scale Division 26 electrical construction projects for an electrical contractor, specialty contractor, or comparable self-perform organization.

Demonstrated project ownership involving conveyance, conveyor, material-handling, sortation, baggage-handling, warehouse-automation, or similarly equipment-driven electrical systems; candidates must understand the power, controls, grounding, sequencing, and turnover interfaces around the equipment.

Proven experience leading commercial, industrial, healthcare, mission-critical, data center, logistics, distribution, airport, or infrastructure electrical projects.

Strong command of electrical construction methods, project scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, contract administration, procurement, labor planning, change management, billing, and closeout.

Experience managing project teams, subcontractors, field personnel, equipment vendors, and cross-functional project stakeholders.

Ability to review electrical drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and coordinated installation packages and convert them into executable field plans.

Working knowledge of NEC, OSHA requirements, NFPA standards, electrical construction best practices, and quality-control processes.

Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office 365; experience with Primavera P6 is strongly valued.

Ability to work primarily onsite, visit active construction areas, navigate stairs and uneven surfaces, travel as projects require, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

Data center, mission-critical, automated logistics, distribution-center, airport baggage-handling, parcel, manufacturing, or industrial conveyance project experience.

Experience coordinating Division 26 enabling infrastructure with Division 27 communications and Division 28 electronic safety/security scope.

OSHA 30 certification.

PMP certification.

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; equivalent electrical trade progression and project leadership experience will also be considered.
