Registered Nurse - NICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized neonatal care to critically ill infants in the NICU setting. Deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing services while adhering to hospital policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Admit new neonatal patients to the unit and assess their condition.
• Operate and monitor ventilators and other neonatal equipment.
• Perform procedures such as starting peripheral IV lines and maintaining central lines.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation within electronic medical records, including CPN and Meditech systems.
• Uphold infection prevention protocols and ensure compliance with unit policies.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with at least 1 year of neonatology experience.
• Current BLS and NRP certifications, with the ability to obtain NRP within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to admit and assess critically ill neonatal patients effectively.
• Experience with various ventilators, including Jet ventilator and Nitric Oxide ventilator, preferred.
• Strong team player with a willingness to float to Pediatrics and PICU as needed.
