We are committed to creating a company where everyone feels supported and encouraged to give their best.THE OPPORTUNITYReporting to the CHRO, the Sr Director of Total Rewards and HRIS will lead the design, delivery, and governance of Vir Bio's global compensation and benefits programs. You will also be responsible for the strategy and implementation of HR analytics initiatives and HRIS oversight across the HR function and broader organization.In this role you will partner with senior business leaders and the HR leadership team to translate business strategy into total rewards strategies that attract, reward, and retain key talent. You will ensure programs are competitive, equitable, and aligned with organizational objectives.The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with deep compensation and benefits expertise, strong analytical capabilities, and a track record of developing successful strategies. This position requires the ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical execution-conceptualizing innovative solutions while driving day-to-day program administration and continuous improvement.This role is located in our San Francisco headquarters with an expectation of at least 3 days per week in office.WHAT YOU'LL DOLead the strategic design, implementation, and administration of global compensation and benefits programs, including base pay structures, short-term and long-term incentive plans (including commercial sales incentive plans), recurring compensation cycles, and program targetsDesign and implement benefits programs through needs analysis, competitive benchmarking, and cost-effectiveness evaluationManage annual benefit enrollment, plan changes, wellness initiatives, and compensation planning cyclesConduct competitive market analysis to ensure programs remain competitive, equitable, and aligned with business objectivesEnsure compliance with federal, state, and international compensation and benefits regulationsServe as the hands-on lead for executive compensation, including program design and benchmarkingPrepare and present analyses and recommendations to senior leadership, the Board of Directors, and the Compensation CommitteeStrategically lead all aspects of management and coordination with the Compensation Committee including meeting planning, deliverable preparation, meeting facilitation, and tracking of follow up actions.Align compensation programs with performance management processes to drive accountability and reward performanceOversee global mobility programs including immigration and relocationDevelop and implement HR analytics strategy and provide HRIS oversight to ensure data integrityExecute total rewards communication strategies to ensure employees understand and value their compensation and benefitsManage a high-performing team across compensation, benefits, and analytics functionsWHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU BRINGBA/BS and 12+ years or MS/MBA and 10+ years of relevant experienceProven track record leading compensation and benefits teams at a public companyExperience within a commercial-stage life sciences organization is strongly preferredDeep expertise in executive compensation programs, including presenting to Board of Directors, Compensation Committees, and external stakeholdersComprehensive knowledge of compensation regulatory, compliance, and legislative requirementsStrong analytical capabilities with experience performing complex reporting and analysisSuperior executive presence and communication skills with ability to present credibly at all organizational levelsProven ability to build trust with stakeholders through strong organizational skills and proactive problem-solvingExperience with HRIS systems, including UKGStrong people management skills with a track record of developing high-performing teamsExperience managing vendor relationships with benefits brokers, consultants, and external partnersCollaborative leadership style with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and stakeholder engagement#LI-AS1#LI-OnsiteWHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE OFFERThe expected salary range for this position is $227,500 to $318,000 per year. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.Vir Biotechnology's compensation and benefits are aligned with the current market and commensurate with the person’s experience and qualifications.
