Staff AccountantSabre Systems, LLC is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Accounting and Finance team. This is a hands-on role with exposure to multiple areas of accounting within a federal government contracting environment. This role includes a hybrid work arrangement, offering a mix of in-office and remote work. It means growing in a culture defined by innovation, excellence, and continuous learning - one that empowers you, invests in your development, and makes a meaningful impact every day.Key ResponsibilitiesThe Staff Accountant will be cross-trained and rotated across several core accounting functions to ensure continuity and skill development:Accounts PayableAccounts Receivable, Billing, and Project SetupPayroll SupportGeneral Ledger (GL) account reconciliationsBank reconciliations, including positive pay exception review/approvalCareer PathThis position is designed with advancement in mind. Over time, the Staff Accountant will progress within the accounting and finance area, eventually assuming backup responsibilities for the Controller as an Assistant Controller.QualificationsQualifications:Minimum 5 years of DoD accounting experience, applying federal financial regulations and supporting defense-related audits and reporting.Minimum 3 experience with Deltek Costpoint, including hands-on experience with General ledger, billing modules, supporting month-end close and reviewing financial activity.Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred; equivalent experience consideredCandidate must be a US Citizen and will be required to pass a background checkDesired SkillsHands-on billing experience within a government contracting environment, including preparing Costpoint invoices, understanding contract types, and reconciling billing data for accuracy (highly desirable)Familiarity with CAS, FAR, and GAAP principlesCPA certification is not required, but is a plusCompensation is based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements; however, final compensation will be determined by individual qualifications and applicable contract terms.
