Senior Design EngineerThe Senior Design Engineer is responsible for leading product development from concept to production, while concurrently performing sustaining engineering activities within a cross functional operations environment to support business growth, increase operational efficiency, secure product improvement, cost effectiveness, manufacturability, quality and customer satisfaction. Review and approve product designs created by others for manufacturability or completenessResearch and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, or other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, or maintenance requirements of designs or applicationsTroubleshoot new or existing product problems involving designs, materials, or processes. Determine root causes of failures and recommends changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methodsUse appropriate techniques to manage changes in project scope, scheduling and costsEnsure that products retain utmost quality and reliability whilst remaining attentive and dedicated to cost and manufacturabilityManage and report on testing of new and existing products to meet operational requirements and/or customer specificationsPerform flow and stress analysis calculations for various product applicationsUpdate and create new 3D models and drawing from paper and AutoCAD, using SolidWorks.Provide technical information in report form to customers when requiredReverse engineer mechanical partsAble to interpret and analyze statistical data and financial reports, understand and resolve technical difficulties, interface with internal experts and manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing environment settingSupervise, coach and mentor the design engineering teamEstablish and maintain relationships with internal resources, customers, and vendorsQualifications:Experience: Minimum 7+ years' experience as Mechanical Product Design Engineer or equivalent in a related or regulated industryEducation: Minimum of BS in Mechanical EngineeringFlexible and able to multitask; can work within a dynamic, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutionsExperience with fluid power or fluid control systemsSolid Works or equivalent 3D CAD Design Package required, additional ACAD capability a plusFEA Static, Dynamic and CFD knowledgeProject engineering capabilitiesCompliance product design experience and proven capabilitiesSkills:CreativityCritical ThinkingComplex Problem SolvingSolid Judgment and Decision-Making CapabilityMultitasking AbilityTechnical Writing SkillsBusiness Communications SkillsAbility to work with complex calculations, generate and review specifications, test designs and technical documentationAble to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.3D CAD solid modeling, Solid Works preferred, additional ACAD a plusOutstanding organizational and leadership abilitiesMust possess the personal qualities of proactivity, integrity, credibility, and commitment to company successPhysical Requirements and Working Conditions:Ability to move around the plant is essential for this positionMust be able to lift 40 poundsNoise environment can be loud at timesMust be able to wear proper PPEAbility to travel to supplier or customer sites as neededBenefits :Competitive salary commensurate with experienceComprehensive medical and dentalCompany-sponsored Short Term Disability and Life InsuranceMatching 401k up to 6%Generous PTO plan and 10 paid holidays
