Processing Supervisor

Processing SupervisorThis position will supervise the day-to-day operations of the processing line which includes the loader, machine operations, packing, and pallet building areas. The Processing Supervisor will ensure the safe and efficient operation of machinery in accordance with established Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures to ensure on time production which meets or exceeds daily output and standards for quality.Key Areas of ResponsibilityEnsure employee compliance with health and safety standardsPromote and develop employee relations and communications on the processing lineMaintain a smooth flow on the processing floorResponsible for the processing employee rotation scheduleResponsible for tracking time-clock exceptions, weekly timesheets and PTO request approvalsConducts periodic performance reviewsNew employee orientation, development, and training for packers, machine operators, loader operators and pallet builders.Assist with disciplinary investigationsAttend regular safety meetingsCoordinate First Report of Injuries with First Responders and Human Resources GeneralistConduct accident and near-miss investigationsAssist with compliance and recordkeepingConduct and document daily and weekly inspectionsAct as a liaison between maintenance and the Director of Plant OperationsComply with SQF, HACCP and GMP requirements at all timesOther duties as assignedQualifications & Education RequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalent3+ years' supervisory experience, preferably in a fast paced production environmentExcellent interpersonal skillsDemonstrated leadership skillsSkills in database management and record keepingAble to exhibit a high level of confidentialityExcellent organizational skillsMust be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely mannerMust be able to gather and analyze information skillfullyKnowledge of food quality standardsAbility to perform the duties of the machine operator or line packerGood basic computer skillsPhysical RequirementsAble to lift up to 50 poundsAble to stand/walk 8 – 10 hours per dayAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentAble to perform repetitive reaching, lifting and fine motor skillsMust be able to see and read date codesMust be able to speak and hear using two-way radio communications
