About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director, Senior Managing Counsel to provide expert legal advice on a wide range of broker-dealer and bank services. This includes institutional trading of equity and fixed-income securities, the origination of various financial instruments, and the offering of outsourced trading services. The successful candidate will be responsible for advising on legal, regulatory, and reputational issues, particularly those arising from fixed-income equities businesses. The role also involves strategic legal advice on new markets, product development, and business initiatives, as well as the management of a legal team and outside counsel. Applicants for this role at The Company should have a JD, NY Bar admission, and a minimum of 12 years' of experience in a law firm or large financial institution, with a focus on fixed-income and equity sales and trading activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of current regulatory issues in institutional sales, trading, and capital markets, and the ability to provide strategic legal advice in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and a commitment to staying informed about legal trends in the financial services industry are essential. The role requires the management of a legal team, including paralegals and junior attorneys, and the oversight of outside counsel.
