Automation Engineer
Location: Pittsburgh, PA - hybrid
Type: 6-Month Contract

Overview
This role will primarily focus on control system hardware and engineering documentation, including PLC enclosures, junction boxes, I/O schematics, and cable schedules. The project will utilize Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLCs with FLEX 5000 I/O modules.

PLC programming experience is not required for this position.

Responsibilities

Develop control system enclosure designs for approximately 10-15 enclosures
Support control system design using Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and FLEX 5000 I/O
Develop junction box designs for wire marshalling and local instrument connections
Develop and review I/O schematics
Develop and maintain cable schedules
Coordinate control system hardware and field instrumentation connections
Work with project drafters and designers to develop and complete design drawings and documentation
Support overall automation and controls engineering activities throughout the design phase

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience with automation, controls, or instrumentation & controls (I&C) engineering
Experience with control system hardware and enclosure/panel design
Understanding of PLC I/O, junction boxes, field instrumentation, and control wiring
Familiarity with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix or similar PLC systems preferred
Ability to develop and/or review I/O schematics and cable schedules
