Roofer - General Services Division

Position Summary The Roofer is responsible for the installation, repair, inspection, and maintenance of commercial and industrial roofing systems. This role ensures roofing projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Gallo Mechanical Services’ quality standards. Key Responsibilities Roofing Operations Install, repair, and replace roofing systems Perform roof inspections and leak investigations Apply coatings, sealants, and waterproofing materials Remove damaged roofing materials Ensure proper flashing and drainage installation Safety & Compliance Follow OSHA and company fall protection policies Use required PPE and safety equipment Inspect ladders, harnesses, and anchors Report unsafe conditions and incidents Maintain organized and hazard-free worksites Quality & Workmanship Deliver high-quality roofing installations Follow manufacturer and industry standards Inspect completed work for defects Perform repairs and corrections as needed Material & Tool Management Handle roofing materials properly Maintain tools and equipment Reduce waste and damage Teamwork & Communication Work with foremen and crew members Communicate jobsite issues Represent Gallo professionally Scope of Work Roofing Systems TPO, PVC, and EPDM systems Modified bitumen and built-up roofing Metal roofing systems Shingle and tile roofing Roof coatings and restorations Related Services Gutter and downspout installation Flashing and penetration sealing Drainage system maintenance Preventative roof inspections Emergency leak response Qualifications 2+ years commercial or industrial roofing experience preferred Knowledge of roofing systems and materials Ability to read basic drawings and specifications Strong safety awareness Valid driver’s license preferred OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred Fall Protection Certification preferred Physical Requirements Work at heights and on rooftops Lift up to 75 lbs Climb ladders and scaffolding Stand, bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods Work outdoors in extreme heat and weather conditions Performance Expectations Maintain strict safety compliance Deliver leak-free, quality installations Maintain professionalism Protect company reputation Founded in 1945, Gallo Mechanical is a premier mechanical construction and service provider headquartered in New Orleans, bringing more than 80 years of experience delivering mission-critical HVAC and plumbing solutions across the southeastern United States—from Houston to the Carolinas.
