Retail Sales And Customer Service Position

This position involves retail sales and customer service in municipal off-sale liquor facilities. Responsibilities include stocking, merchandising, cashiering, and performing a variety of duties related to liquor store operations. Work is performed under limited supervision of the Liquor Operations Manager, Store Manager, or Store Supervisor and is reviewed through observation and record evaluation.

Examples Of Duties

• Stock shelves and coolers with merchandise; ensure items are accurately priced and maintain a clean, orderly stockroom.
• Receive and check in incoming merchandise.
• Assist customers with product selection and inquiries.
• Maintain awareness and surveillance to prevent shoplifting.
• Perform custodial duties, including vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning restroom areas.
• Operate a cash register to process sales; verifying age through ID checks, make change, and package merchandise.
• Coordinate with management and sales representatives to order assigned items.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for secondary vendors, including lottery and linen services.
• Perform other duties related to the position as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds

Desired Qualifications:

• One year of related retail or customer service experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Basic knowledge of liquor brands and product types.
• Working knowledge of retail stocking and sales practices.
• Proficiency in operating a cash register.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy merchandise.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, customers, and the general public.

Supplemental Information

Regular hours of operation: Monday Saturday, 10 am 10 pm & Sunday, 11 am 6 pm.

Priority will be given to applicants able to work night and weekend shifts

Hours Available: 16 -18 hours per week
