Registered Nurse – ICU / Med Surg (Mixed Acuity)

Contract (13 Weeks) | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts | 36 Guaranteed Hours Per Week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a mixed-acuity environment, primarily managing Med Surg patients with intermittent higher-acuity ICU-level assignments as needed
• Maintain a 1:2 patient ratio within the ICU/Med Surg unit and adapt to varying patient acuity levels
• Float to the Med Surg unit as needed based on census and staffing requirements
• Participate in on-call rotation, including low-census call assignments with a minimum 2-hour call-back requirement
• Work every other weekend and every other holiday as part of the standard rotation
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using EPIC electronic health records

Required Qualifications

• Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience
• Demonstrated comfort and competency with occasional ICU-level patient care
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a mixed-acuity or combined Med Surg/ICU unit environment
• Ability to work independently, manage tasks efficiently, and adapt well to changing census and assignment needs
• Strong resilience and flexibility in a dynamic, fast-paced clinical setting
