Job Summary The Pre Doctoral Research Fellow supports clinical and basic science research activities within Orthopedic Oncology. The role is a structured, educational fellowship designed for medical students to gain research experience under close faculty supervision while contributing to ongoing research projects in an academic medical center setting. The position does not function independently and is intended solely for training and academic development. Required Job Qualifications Bachelor’s degree Completion of the third year of medical school before fellowship start Demonstrated interest in orthopedic surgery and clinical research Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work effectively in a team‑based academic environment Ability to follow established research protocols and procedures Preferred Qualifications Prior research experience Exposure to data analysis or statistical software (e.g., SPSS, STATA) Job Responsibilities Support multiple faculty‑led clinical and research studies under direct supervision Coordinate research projects, including maintaining study documentation and case logs Assist with patient enrollment and research database management Draft, submit, and update IRB protocols under faculty direction Collect and enter clinical and intraoperative data into approved systems Participate in scheduled research meetings, conferences, and educational sessions Prepare data summaries and assist with statistical analyses using standard research software Draft and edit research manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and presentations under supervision Collaborate with faculty, fellows, residents, and research staff as assigned Perform other duties consistent with the educational objectives of the fellowship Rush is an equal opportunity employer.
