Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring 2 years of neuro critical care experience and an active IN or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a 10-bed Neurosurgical and Neurological Intensive Care Unit
• Patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 depending on acuity
• Patient population includes ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, post-op craniotomy, seizures, encephalopathy, and neurologic tumors
• Uses Alaris Pumps, Arctic Sun, Prismax, EV 1000, and Neuroptics Pupillometer
• Epic EMR used for charting
• 3x12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend commitment required
• No call requirements
• Floating required to other inpatient areas during low census

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Neuro ICU experience required
• Comprehensive assessment skills including thorough neurological assessments
• Experience caring for hemodynamically unstable and mechanically ventilated patients
• EKG testing required as part of the clearance process
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Preferred experience includes Pupillometer, EVD, ICP waveform management, CRRT, and Epic
• Provide critical care nursing to patients with complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions
• Team-oriented environment valuing flexibility, empathy, and a positive attitude
• Navy scrub color required; hoodies not permitted
• Orientation includes Epic training (if needed) and one day of unit orientation
• Report to 4 West in the Tower building and park in designated employee parking areas
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius accepted at a reduced bill rate
