Our recent growth has led to a new opportunity for a Government Consulting Associate. In this role, you would perform a wide variety of research, compliance, auditing, and other consulting tasks in our Government Consulting Department.

YOUR ROLE

• Technical & Program Knowledge: Develop basic technical skills in the applicable program and contract areas of practice. Understand the purpose of Medicare contract work, including examinations and agreed-upon procedures, and how the various sections relate to one another. Understand sampling and testing methodology for specific types of Medicare examinations, agreed-upon procedures, and desk/compliance assignments.
• Quality Execution: Perform tasks as directed by the Team Lead or appropriate supervisor in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner. Complete standard working papers and develop working paper documentation skills. Prepare documents in CaseWare or Box, including all appropriate forms and templates, with minimal assistance.
• Excellent Communication: Develop professional and timely written and verbal communication skills. Outline problems and issues to the Team Lead or other supervisor in a way that helps lead to solutions. Inform the applicable supervisor of issues encountered in a prompt manner.
• Technology & Systems: Ability to learn new systems and become proficient in the use of Excel, Word, CaseWare, Box, Smartsheet, and other applicable programs as directed by the Team Lead, CMS, or Prime Contractors.

 

YOUR SKILLS

• Knowledge: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Experience in Accounting or CPA firm or professional services environment preferred.
• Skills: Performs within a well-defined job structure with established standards of performance, but to display the confidence necessary to handle occasional, unexpected problems. Can stay on top of a variety of commitments and deadlines, altering time frames and schedules, and reporting on problems and progress in a timely manner. Thrives in a very active environment where there is a high degree of urgency to tasks and assignments Follows up and closely controls all activities which are assigned or delegated. Works well on tasks which require precision and close attention to detail. Welcomes a friendly, cooperative environment, with some personal recognition. Displays initiative, instills enthusiasm, and confidence in others. Excels in a stimulating environment where things are happening and changing. Adapts to ongoing change and improvement and the opportunity to personally make changes. Demonstrates professional and personal growth through continuous interaction with new people and new ideas .
