Parking Valet Attendant

UnityPoint Health - Allen

Shift: PRN as needed

Provide a welcoming first impression as a Parking/Valet Attendant, helping patients, visitors, and staff experience safe and efficient parking services. You will manage valet operations, safely park and retrieve vehicles, assist individuals with mobility needs, and ensure smooth traffic flow across parking areas. Responsibilities include handling fees accurately, maintaining equipment readiness, and responding to urgent needs when they arise. Role ideal for someone who values customer service, safety, and part of a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, courteous valet parking by parking and retrieving vehicles, ensuring security, and documenting any existing vehicle damage with customer acknowledgment.

• Assist patients and visitors entering and exiting vehicles, including wheelchair support and transport assistance throughout the facility.

• Maintain organized valet key control for efficient access and respond to urgent situations such as codes or patient falls when nearby.

• Support wayfinding and transport to buildings, testing areas, and clinical units while consistently demonstrating professionalism, confidentiality, and a strong service mindset.

• Process parking transactions accurately by collecting fees, validating tickets, and ensuring proper departmental billing.

• Maintain balanced cash handling and follow cashier protocols.

• Monitor parking equipment such as gates and ticket systems, ensuring supplies and functionality are maintained .

• Track daily parking activity and vehicle flow to support efficient operations and promptly report equipment issues or unusual incidents to appropriate leadership .

Qualifications

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

• At least one (1) year with a good driving record required .

• Six (6) months of customer service experience required .

License(s)/Certification(s):

• Valid driver’s license required .

• Management of Aggressive Behavior training through the Management of Aggressive Behavior Training International Inc. (MOAB) required within 30 days of hire.

• IA Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state (s) where providing care   required within 90 days of hire.

• I L Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state (s) where providing care   required within 90 days of hire.

• IA Adult Dependent Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state (s) where providing care   required within 90 days of hire.
