Position: Senior Java Developer
Location - Chicago, IL
Contract-to-hire role
Must-Have Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java 17, Spring Boot, Microservices, Kafka, Angular, AWS, API development, and SQL , with proven experience building and maintaining enterprise applications in a production AWS environment.
Important: Candidates without hands-on AWS and EMR experience should not be considered.

Must-Have Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on Java development experience
- Java 17 experience
- Strong experience with Spring Boot
- Strong experience designing and developing Microservices
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka
- Hands-on experience with AWS
- EC2
- ECS
- EMR
- RDS
- S3
- EMR experience is mandatory
- Strong API development experience
- Strong SQL/database experience , including writing and optimizing large/complex SQL queries
- Angular experience
- Strong background in Java programming, libraries, frameworks, and enterprise application development
- Experience developing, deploying, and maintaining applications within the AWS ecosystem
- AWS certification along with strong hands-on AWS experience
- Apache Spark experience
- AWS certifications
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using Java 17, Spring Boot, and Microservices .
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and enterprise services.
- Build and maintain event-driven applications using Kafka .
- Develop and support applications running within the AWS ecosystem .
- Work with AWS services including EC2, ECS, EMR, RDS, and S3 .
- Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries against large databases.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot production issues and ensure application performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Contribute to application modernization and cloud migration initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java 17, Spring Boot, Microservices, Kafka, Angular, AWS, API development, and SQL , with proven experience building and maintaining enterprise applications in a production AWS environment.
