Paralegal Position at Manuel Diaz Law Firm, PC
Manuel Diaz Law Firm, PC is seeking a dynamic, self-starting individual with vision, initiative, and a demonstrated commitment to serve as a Paralegal in the Immigration Department.
Reports to the Managing Attorney for the Immigration Department.
The Paralegal will provide a broad spectrum of legal services under the supervision of an attorney.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to lawyer and enhance office effectiveness
- Handle communication with clients, witnesses etc.
- Manage client interaction to facilitate communication.
- Locate and develop relevant case information
- Type up and file basic legal documents and correspondence
- Assist team in gathering documents from clients
- Answer and direct phone calls
- Maintain contact lists
- Monitor deadlines and juggle calendars
Qualifications & Skills:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Proficiency in English and Spanish both verbal and written
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel; Adobe Acrobat)
- Excellent secretarial and organizational skills
- Ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure
- 3 plus years of Immigration caseload experience.
- Experience in EOIR filings including bond hearings, 42A and 42B cancellation of removal, and asylum.
- Experience in USCIS filings including family-based cases, waivers, VAWA and U visas, affirmative asylum, DACA, etc.
- Experience with family-based consular processing cases.
