Overview
The Supported Employment Coordinator provides employment-related support to clients who have severe and persistent mental illness in order to help the clients find and maintain competitive employment in the community. Services may include job analysis, job matching, résumé preparation, and developing interview skills. The Supported Employment Coordinator practices the principles and values of the evidence based model of supported employment. Services are primarily delivered in the community.
Responsibilities
Manages an appropriate sized case load of clients with severe and persistent mental illness or other program-specific populations. Size of caseload is based on additional responsibilities, clients’ level of acuity, and agency need.
Practices the principles and values of the evidence based model of supported employment, as evidenced by clinical supervision and periodic program fidelity reviews.
Completes required documentation for IPS Fidelity Based programs such as career profiles, employment plans, and follow along support plans.
Implements treatment planning goals, utilizing the evidence-based model of supported employment.
Assists clients in accessing employment-related community resources while teaching skills for client linkage of community resources.
Works collaboratively with community resources to help clients access employment and other income resources. These resources may include - but are not limited to - the Social Security Administration (SSA) and the Vocational Rehabilitation Division (VRD).
Develops and maintains therapeutic client relationships, with close adherence to client-directed services.
Researches possible job openings and opportunities for clients by contacting employment agencies, help-wanted advertisers, previous contacts, making cold calls and other methods of reaching potential employers.
Provides timely accurate documentation using appropriate psychosocial terminology that meets or exceeds billing criteria. Must adhere to the Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR) and standards of care. Completes program-specific charting and data-tracking, and enters outcome data.
Assesses symptoms and manages immediate crisis including danger to self or others, and implements crisis intervention plan if necessary.
Transports clients to facilitate client-directed services, travels between sites and is required to drive.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a sense of how the business community works, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be sincerely motivating to helping others attain meaningful, competitive work.
Bachelor’s (BA/BS) degree in a human services field OR three years of experience providing services in a similar setting with individuals who have emotional and/or mental and/or developmental disabilities, OR a combination of education and experience that provides the desired skills, knowledge, and abilities required to perform the job.
Must be a QMHA on the Mental Health & Addictions Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO) registry.

Candidates must be able to use e-mail, compose documents, save and locate documents electronically, and learn to use our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Proficiency in Word and other MS Office applications preferred.
Must pass state-required background and DMV checks; possess a valid OR driver's license and a satisfactory driving record to be approved for driving rights. Candidate must be able to work independently and flexibly, under general supervision.
