Bakery Associate

Responsible for garnishing, weighing, packaging, labeling and merchandising bakery products. Cleans the work area as required. Cleans and sanitizes bakery, bakery equipment, and bakery utensils. Re-stocks supplies and ingredients as needed. Provides a high level of member service.

Job duties include moving product filled oven racks, un-traying products from baking pans into packaging, garnishing baked goods according to item requirements, sealing and labeling bags and containers of baked goods according to merchandise manual, re-stocking baking supplies and industrial-sized containers of ingredients, scaling finished product and recording weight on verification sheets, maintaining date rotation and merchandising presentation throughout the day, cleaning and sanitizing the bakery area including cooler and freezer, dismantling bakery equipment, washing, rinsing and sanitizing removable parts, wiping down stationary parts with cleaning agent, water, and sanitizing agent, following SSOP guidelines, logging sanitation procedures performed on daily reports, collecting cardboard and trash, operating trash compactor and cardboard baler, taking laundry to laundry service pick-up area, performing weekly cleaning duties, assisting with other bakery duties as needed, providing prompt and courteous member service, completing and complying with 11 commandments of quality assurance, food safety certification and all safety training required by warehouse and department, maintaining current product knowledge of bakery items, ensuring proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials, operating vehicles, equipment or machinery, and assisting with department duties as necessary.
