For a Certified Pharmacy Technician, they mean:Intentional Love - Greeting patients with compassion, patience, dignity, and respect while responding thoughtfully to their needs.Devoted Service - Providing dependable support to patients, pharmacists, and coworkers throughout each prescription encounter.Humble Excellence - Preparing prescriptions carefully, maintaining accurate records, and following legal and professional standards while remaining teachable and Christ-centered.What You'll DoGreet patients courteously, determine their pharmacy needs, and provide prompt assistance.Review prescriptions for accuracy and completeness before processing prescription information in accordance with insurance requirements and CCHS guidelines.Prepare prescriptions under a pharmacist's direction by counting, pouring, weighing, or measuring medications; selecting the appropriate container; and affixing the correct label.Accept and communicate prescription information in accordance with Tennessee law and CCHS policies.Use point-of-sale equipment to record prescription sales and collect the appropriate payments according to pharmacy guidelines.Ask patients whether they would like medication counseling and refer all counseling requests and clinical questions to the pharmacist.Establish and maintain complete, accurate patient profiles and prescription records using pharmacy software.Stock medications, assist with inventory counts, and order medications as directed by a pharmacist.Maintain an organized, clean, and secure work area that supports patient safety and efficient pharmacy operations.Follow applicable privacy, safety, regulatory, and organizational requirements.Perform other duties as assigned.What You'll BringHigh school diploma or equivalent.Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program.At least one year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.Current Certified Pharmacy Technician credential (CPhT).Current registration with the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy.Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy while managing recurring variables and multiple processing steps.Professional communication and customer-service skills.Ability to protect confidential patient information and work effectively under a pharmacist's direction.What Success Looks LikePrescription information is processed accurately and efficiently.Prepared prescriptions contain the correct medication quantity, container, and label before pharmacist verification.Patient profiles, payment records, and inventory information remain complete and current.Patients receive courteous service and are referred promptly to a pharmacist for counseling or clinical questions.Pharmacy inventory is organized and replenished as directed.Legal, regulatory, privacy, and CCHS requirements are followed consistently.The Christian mission and values of CCHS are reflected in daily interactions and work practices.Work EnvironmentThis position operates in a pharmacy and clinic environment and involves regular contact with patients who may have infectious or contagious illnesses.The role requires sitting for approximately 25% of the workday while entering prescriptions, standing for approximately 50% while filling prescriptions, and walking for approximately 25% while assisting patients. Lifting, pushing, or pulling occurs approximately 20% of the time, with items weighing up to 20 pounds. Typical objects include drug wholesaler totes, boxes of labels, copy paper, and prescriptions.The position requires frequent use of a computer, telephone, and medication-counting equipment. A high degree of hand-eye coordination is required for computer work, and normal hand-eye coordination is required when using the telephone and counting equipment.
