Competitive salary commensurate with experience100% Company-paid Health Benefits401(k) Savings and Investment PlanTuition reimbursement programs available to qualifying employees for approved programsAdditional training programs including on the job, online through H&K Academy, manufacturer offered training, and moreCompany vehicleResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform all work adhering to OSHA, PA and DoT regulations, and H&K Safety policiesDrive to various locations in the Western PA regions for work.Reviews job orders and observes and listens to equipment in operators/truck drivers/shop leaders to determine malfunction and to plan work procedures.Identify parts for repairs or replacement for all systems on equipment/trucks when needed.Examines protective guards, loose bolts and specified safety devices on equipment/trucks and makes adjustments.Dismantles equipment/trucks to examine parts for defect or to remove defective part.Replaces defective part with new part or repairs or reproduces part from various kinds of metal.Assembles and test operates machine or test drive trucks to verify correction of malfunction and to confirm that it meets manufactures specifications.Overhauls gas or diesel engines.Performs diagnostics through the use of computers and carious equipment.Performs front end inspection and alignments.Other duties as assignedQualificationsRequired Skills, Education, and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution OR relevant experience and/or trainingClean driving record Customer Service and TeamworkGeneral computer knowledge as well as caterpillar software (ET &SIS)Ability to use mechanics hand tools, torch, and welderAbility to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as neededAbility to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)Preferred Skills, Education, and ExperienceRelated experience and/or trainingHigh school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institutionTechnical school or college in the heavy equipment fieldExperience working in heavy civil construction, road construction, or quarriesCDL AOSHA, MSHA, or other relevant safety certificationsPhysical DemandsOccasionally required to stand, walk, or sitClimb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawlDrive up to two hoursUse hands to finger or feelTalk and hearOccasionally lift and/or move up to 75 poundsWork EnvironmentOccasional exposure to Moving partsFumes and airborne particlesNoise level is loud at timesAt times required to work outdoors in all environmentsHours regularly exceed 40 hours a week and 8 hours a dayH&K provides complete heavy civil contracting and construction materials solutions with safety, speed, quality, efficiency, and value.
