You will serve as the operational leader for both sites—empowering your teams, optimizing workflows, and ensuring seamless, high-quality lab services that support clinicians and patients across the ambulatory care continuum. This is an ideal opportunity for a hands-on leader who enjoys building structure, coaching teams, and driving consistency across multiple sites while partnering closely with system-level laboratory leadership and specialty services, including the cancer center laboratory.What You'll DoLead and support two ambulatory laboratory sites, ensuring smooth, efficient daily operations and strong team performanceBuild, coach, and develop a high-performing laboratory team through clear expectations, accountability, and supportive leadershipServe as the primary operational leader and escalation point for staffing, workflow, and service delivery needsPartner with system laboratory leadership and clinical teams to align priorities, standardize processes, and improve service access and turnaround timesOversee quality and compliance activities, including review of QC, maintenance, temperature logs, and other required laboratory documentationEnsure readiness and performance in CLIA/CAP-regulated environments while maintaining a strong culture of quality and safetySupport implementation, validation, and onboarding of new tests, instruments, and workflowsDrive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, staff experience, and patient serviceProvide thoughtful oversight of staffing and scheduling across both sites, ensuring appropriate coverage and operational continuityQualificationsBachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field requiredASCP certification (MLS/MT) requiredMinimum 5 years of clinical laboratory generalist experienceMinimum 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a CLIA-regulated laboratoryStrong background in clinical chemistry and hematologyDemonstrated success leading teams in a hospital or clinical laboratory environmentWorking knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)Beaker experience strongly preferredExperience with workflow or operational system use preferredExperience with test validation, implementation, and process improvementStrong leadership presence with the ability to influence, coach, and build trust across teamsAdditional Job Details (if applicable)This is a meaningful opportunity to step into a visible leadership role within ambulatory diagnostics, where your decisions directly impact operational performance, staff experience, and patient access to timely diagnostic care.
