Minimum 6 months Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a paraprofessional in a vibrant educational environment near Cranston, RI. This full-time position (32.5 hours per week) invites you to help foster academic growth and positive behavioral development for students who are largely included in mainstream classrooms. Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Previous experience working as a paraprofessional or in a similar setting preferred
- Strong ability to provide both academic and behavioral support to a diverse student population
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with teachers, therapists, and other staff
- Compassion, patience, and adaptability to help students navigate their academic and behavioral goals
- High school diploma or equivalent required; further education is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist classroom teachers in implementing lesson plans and supporting instructional activities
- Work one-on-one or in small groups with students needing additional academic or behavioral support
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment, encouraging student interaction and participation
- Monitor student progress and report observations to teaching and support staff
- Help manage classroom behavior and provide interventions when necessary
- Support students with special needs in adapting to mainstream classrooms
