Details Float pool position with no assigned home unit, floating among approximately 5 Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU departments and other metro campuses Night shift, 3x12 hours, 18:45-7:15 Patient ratio of 1:5 Weekend requirement of 8 shifts within a 6-week schedule period, combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed per unit No on-call requirements Cares for patients with cardiac telemetry, neuro stepdown, sepsis, wound care, ETOH, SI, renal failure, AFIB, GIB, stroke, and COVID conditions Performs cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Cares for pre/post cardiac cath patients Uses Virtual Nursing, 12 lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte, and Omnicell equipment Utilizes Epic EMR Requirements Active Kansas and Missouri RN license, or compact license, required in hand at time of consideration Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred 2 years of recent specialty experience required, including a full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months with no employment gap greater than 90 days Experience in MS/Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, and Neuro Stepdown settings required Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy required Preferred skills include sheath removal, feeding tube care and management, accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, and central line care/management Must be willing to float between departments, units, and facilities as needed Two professional references required, one from a supervisor level or above and one from a charge RN, both from within the past year Additional Information Provides direct patient care in a telemetry/PCU environment with a focus on cardiac and neuro monitoring Floating is a core expectation of this role, with no guaranteed home unit No block scheduling accommodations available RTO limited to a maximum of 7 days, finalized at time of submission with no changes accepted afterward Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted Previous BJC/Saint Luke's permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler; returning travelers require an 18-month tenure with a 3-month break in service First-time travelers are welcome to apply No travel partners accepted for this assignment American Traveler Job ID P-759195.
