Respiratory Therapist

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift, 3x12.0 hours.

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, delivering intensive respiratory care and assisting with patient transport as medically prescribed, within the scope of professional license and minimal supervision. Key responsibilities include evaluating patients, recommending treatment plans, and conducting physician-prescribed treatments using various respiratory equipment and devices to administer medications, ventilation, and oxygenation. The therapist performs chest physiotherapy, suctioning, monitoring, and various tests related to respiratory care, including pulmonary function studies and EKGs.

• Administer routine respiratory treatments using ventilatory equipment, oxygen, aerosol devices, and nebulizers.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning by various methods (oropharyngeal, nasal, tracheal).
• Conduct oximetry, capnography monitoring, and review of chest x-rays.
• Assist with respiratory-related procedures including Bronchoscopy and Chest Tube placement.
• Perform tracheostomy care and manage arterial punctures.
• Document all treatments and patient responses accurately in the respiratory care records.
• Communicate effectively with physicians regarding therapy effectiveness and patient status.
• Maintain and operate mechanical ventilation equipment, performing necessary checks and maintenance.

Must possess a valid Respiratory Therapy license and relevant certifications such as BLS and ACLS. Experience in a clinical setting preferred.
