When you join Lewis, you're not just taking a job — you're investing in your future.Why You'll Love It Here:Experience the great outdoors while working in nature, not stuck behind a desk!Elevate your career with us — we prioritize training and internal promotions!Join a vibrant team that champions safety, values your feedback, and fosters a strong sense of camaraderie!Shape your future with us through our fantastic Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)!ResponsibilitiesWhat You'll Do as a Safety SupervisorLead, coach, mentor, develop, and provide feedback to Safety Specialists who support Operations teams.Partner with Operations to support frontline workers and customers, promote learning, and identify and share good practices and lessons learned.Analyze regional safety program effectiveness and collaborate with Regional Leadership teams to develop and improve the safety culture through safety initiatives, education, and training.Provide governance and field oversight for the implementation and continuous improvement of Lewis's safety programs.Evaluate the effectiveness of safety management systems, operational controls, and Safety Specialist support.Investigate and analyze incidents using current methods and causal analysis methods to identify organizational, operational, and other contributing factors and develop effective corrective actions.Identify, evaluate, and prioritize high-energy and Serious Injury/Fatality potential exposures and ensure critical controls are established, effective, and implemented.Prepare evaluations and provide comprehensive summary reports and recommendations for Operations and Safety Leadership.Communicate safety program needs with Safety and Training Leadership.Report timely and accurately to the Director of Safety and Human Performance.Comply with all company policies, procedures, and work standards.Perform all other related and necessary duties as assigned.Significant travel is required to provide governance and oversight of field visits and safety activities. Field engagement will focus on evaluating program effectiveness, identifying system issues, coaching, and strengthening Lewis's safety programs.QualificationsWhat You Bring:Associate degree in Safety Management, Safety Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent experience preferred.Minimum 3 years of experience in a safety role.Minimum 1 year of experience in a safety leadership role.OSHA 30 required.Valid driver's license.Ability to routinely travel locally and away from home approximately 30–40% of the time.Preferred:Professional safety certifications such as OSHA 511, OHST, or CHST.Experience in line clearance, ISA Arborist, or a related industry.Certified Tree Care Safety Professional (CTSP) credential or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong ability to lead teams and drive change.Extensive knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, DOT, and applicable safety regulations and standards.Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills.Proficiency with computers, smartphones, and MS Office Suite.Knowledge of vegetation management tools, practices, and procedures is a plus.Ability to build positive relationships and gain trust and respect across the organization.Ability to work collaboratively and actively contribute as part of a team.Responsible, trustworthy, honest, and committed to acting with integrity.Creative and willing to learn.Physical DemandsAbility to:Write, type, file, and organize.Observe and respond to visual messages.Observe and respond to instructions, messages, and other oral communication.Adjust quickly and efficiently from task to task.Communicate clearly in a professional and understandable manner.Bend, reach, hold, grasp, sort, and organize.Perform in the presence of distractions or work frustrations.Maintain regular and timely attendance.Participate in employee and professional training events.Routinely travel locally and away from home approximately 30–40% of the time.What We OfferNon-Union Benefits:Competitive pay $75,000 - $91,000Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).Paid training and certifications.Health, dental, vision & HSA options.401(k) + match.Paid time off and Employee Assistance Program (EAP).People PromiseOur commitment to Our People is key to the success of our business.
