Summary: Performs diagnostic tests to measure the electrical activity of the heart.

Responsibilities:

• Instructs, prepares, and pre-assesses patients for electrocardiogram (EKG) tests, stress testing and/or cardiovascular monitoring devices.
• Operates EKG machines and attach electrodes to patients' bodies to obtain accurate heart readings.
• Monitors EKG equipment during tests to ensure optimal functionality and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
• Observes scanner screen to identify irregularities in patient cardiac patterns and verifies data to printout for interpretation by the physician.
• Set up and assist physician in administering exercise treadmill stress testing.
• Records and edits test results, providing preliminary reports to responsible licensed caregivers (Registered Nurse, Physician).
• Maintains accurate and detailed patient records related to tests and results using a Cardiac Information Management System (MUSE).
• Maintains all equipment associated with stress testing and cardiovascular monitoring devices e.g., Holter Monitor, institutes trouble shooting measures, recognizes equipment malfunctions and communicates with service engineers.
• Provides patient care and support, addressing any concerns or questions they may have regarding the during cardiac diagnostic procedures.
• Maintains an environment of safety for patients, self and others.
• Collaborates with healthcare team members to discuss and verify test results.
