Are you a skilled Manual MIG Welder looking for a stable, hands-on role in a production environment? We are looking for a dedicated and safety-focused welder to join our Production team in Athens TN. What You'll Do (Duties & Responsibilities)

As a Manual MIG Welder, you will be responsible for the precise welding of assemblies and component parts to ensure the production of quality products. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Manual Welding: Load assemblies or component parts into fixtures and adjust welding machines to manually weld components, producing quality parts.
  • Machine Setup: Accurately set and maintain proper welding temperatures, wire feeds, and gas settings for optimal weld quality.
  • Quality Assurance: Visually inspect all welds for proper penetration and porosity. Use checking fixtures, SPC control charts, and other tools to guarantee part quality.
  • Material Handling: Properly locate and secure various assemblies or component parts into fixtures.
  • Tool Use: Efficiently use small hand tools necessary for the job.
  • Safety & Communication: Communicate proactively with the Production Supervisor regarding quality issues, equipment problems, and other job-related functions.
  • Cleanliness: Maintain excellent housekeeping of your immediate area and the welding department.
  • Safety Culture: Adhere strictly to all safe work practices, rules, and regulations. Safety is a condition of employment and a shared responsibility within the plant.
What You'll Bring (Required Skills & Experience)
  • Experience: Prior welding experience is required.
  • MIG Expertise: Knowledgeable of welding techniques and manufacturing processes, with the ability to use MIG welding guns and make adjustments to ensure quality welds.
  • Quality Knowledge: Familiarity with SPC controls and quality assurance tools.
  • Certification: Must be willing to undergo annual recertification.
  • Education: A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
