Senior AWS Redshift Data Engineer on a full-time 1099 contract through the end of the year, based in Austin, TX, with an hourly rate of USD 140 - 173. Responsibilities Lead optimization and ongoing maintenance of large-scale AWS Redshift clusters to ensure robust data warehouse performance and scalable queries (60%) Enhance and support ETL pipelines, leveraging Kafka streaming and ECS-based jobs to guarantee timely data delivery and reliability (30%) Improve BI performance and data availability for reporting tools, including Looker, to support analytics needs (10%) Prepare data assets for AI-enabled applications and MCPs to enable AI workflows Collaborate closely with the data engineering and BI teams to align data strategies and delivery Requirements 7-10 years of experience in data engineering, database administration, or related roles Must be based in the United States Extensive experience optimizing AWS Redshift clusters, including environments with hundreds of terabytes of data Strong experience tuning, repairing, and maintaining heavily queried and frequently updated Redshift tables Experience configuring and managing Kafka streams Experience with Looker or a similar BI platform Familiarity with Python and/or AI-enabled data workflows is a strong plus Technologies AWS Redshift Kafka Amazon ECS Looker Python #J-18808-Ljbffr Braintrust
