Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

The Medical-Surgical/Ortho Unit is seeking dedicated and skilled Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our team on a full-time basis. This position involves providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, focusing on post-operative care and medical-surgical interventions.

Position Details

Unit Type: Medical-Surgical/Ortho
Shift Length: 12 hours
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Shift Notes: Night shifts (12-hour shifts)
Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend (6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period)
Holiday Requirement: Rotating holidays

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
Administer medications and treatments according to established guidelines and protocols.
Deliver patient-centered care with effective communication and collaboration with the healthcare team.
Monitor and assess patients' conditions, including titration of drips such as heparin and TPN.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.
Participate in unit meetings and collaborate in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Must possess an active RN license and BLS certification.
Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a medical-surgical or orthopedic setting is preferred.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a healthcare team.
Ability to perform accurately under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Additional Information

Uniform requirement: Navy scrubs.
Unit orientation will be provided to all new team members.
Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas.
Floating to other medical-surgical units may occur, but this will be rare.
