Physical Therapist Asst.

Altru Rehabilitation Hospital , part of Altru Health System in Grand Forks, ND, is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will work under the supervision and direction of licensed Physical Therapists to provide high-quality, patient-centered rehabilitative care across inpatient and/or outpatient settings. Responsibilities Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans designed to improve mobility, function, strength, and overall quality of life for patients recovering from injury, surgery, illness, or managing chronic conditions. Carry out prescribed therapeutic exercises, gait and balance training, use of therapeutic modalities, and instruct patients and families in home exercise programs and safe functional mobility techniques. Accurately document patient treatments, progress, and responses in the electronic medical record. Communicate changes in patient status to the supervising Physical Therapist and contribute to interdisciplinary care planning with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other team members. Maintain a safe and clean treatment environment, ensure proper use and care of equipment, follow infection control and safety protocols, and participate in quality improvement activities. Engage in ongoing professional development, including in‑service education and skill-building in specialized rehabilitation areas. Qualifications Graduated from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. Holds or is eligible for PTA licensure in North Dakota. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Comfortable working in a fast‑paced clinical environment.
