Job Details Job Location: TX-Odessa TS - Odessa, TX 79764 Position Type: Part Time with Benefits 20 or More Education Level: Some High School Salary Range: $12.00 Travel Percentage: None Job Shift: Any Job Category: Store Schedule/Hours: Varies-Part time This position is responsible for: Assists Truck Driver in lifting and stacking donations in the truck and unloading/loading truck. Prepares donation receipts for customers; ensures the accuracy and completeness of the same. Maintains good relationships with donors to promote a favorable image of The Salvation Army. Places and arranges furniture, appliances, books, or other heavy items in the store as directed. Inspects donated items briefly to ensure they can be used according to established policies and procedures; explains policy to customers regarding the types of items that can be accepted. Key Responsibilities Assists in cleaning and maintaining the warehouse and loading dock area; picks up trash and debris surrounding the grounds as requested. Assists with placing items in the store as needed. Assists customers in carrying purchased/ donated items in/out of the store. Performs other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write and communicate the English language effectively. Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing. Duties require frequent periods of physical mobility including but not limited to standing, walking, climbing, bending, squatting, and lifting. Physical duties may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of sitting. Extensive amount of physical effort required associated with lifting, moving, and carrying heavy objects (up to 100 lbs.) frequently. Employee Benefits Part time Position Qualifications High school or G.E.D. preferred but not required. Prior experience driving a box truck preferred. Any equivalent combination of training and experience providing the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Valid State Driver’s License.
