About the Position

Job Title

Registered Nurse – Mother/Baby (Maternity Unit)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Days (0700–1930) | 3x12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week | At least 1–2 weekends per month required | No holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Provide family-centered antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care within a 32-bed maternity unit
• Deliver evidence-based nursing care to a diverse urban patient population across a variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
• Perform antepartum monitoring and fetal monitoring as part of routine patient assessment
• Float to Labor & Delivery and NICU as needed, providing competent care across all three areas
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, advanced practice providers, and support staff to ensure patient safety and positive birth experiences
• Support patient and family education throughout the childbirth experience

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Mother/Baby, Labor & Delivery, or related maternity nursing
• Experience in both Labor & Delivery and NICU settings (float capability required)
• Proficiency in postpartum care, newborn care, and antepartum care including antepartum monitoring
• Fetal monitoring experience required (certification not required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for diverse urban patient populations with varying cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
• Familiarity with high-acuity maternity and neonatal care environments
