About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (645a-715p, every other weekend) Experience: 2 years of acute inpatient progressive care unit experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Acute care nursing, patient assessment, care plan development, care plan implementation, clinical intervention monitoring Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. The RN promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Applying the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care, the RN assesses, develops, implements, and evaluates the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and mentoring or precepting staff. Responsibilities include performing assessments and reassessments per policy or as warranted by patient condition. The RN demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. The RN initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care and reviews/revises it as indicated. Collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services is essential. The RN utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization, patients, and families. Monitoring and documenting responses to clinical interventions are key responsibilities. The RN facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs. Teamwork is encouraged, and the RN identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement. Participation in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts is required. The RN complies with regulatory standards and participates in the Practice Governance model.
